OK, EVEN THOUGH NO ONE IS ACTUALLY ON THE BLOG. I started listening to "Dangerous" one of Jackson's best selling albums. I was not too impressed, this should be an interesting stretch project.
Hi Virginia, if you want to get into MJ, I would seriously recommend watching "This Is It," the documentary about his preparation for his final tour (which he never got to do). Even though I grew up when his pop career was huge, I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to him or his music. This documentary really helped me understand his appeal. It's a combo of his voice, his DANCING, his creative presentation . . . the man really was a genius. It made me more interested in his music, too. (At the very least, watch a few of his music videos.)
I was talking to my parents about Michael Jackson this morning on the way to school, he may of been a phenomenal music guy but I would never look up to him as a role model or something in a million years. His music is good but he didn't make good choices as a person.
Yeah, MJ definitely didn't have a reputation for the best choices. He had a very unusual life, growing up in the spotlight. I think he went through a lot of pain. I agree that it's better to focus on him as a musician rather than on his personal life!
I need to listen to more Michael Jackson. How do you dance like that anyway? I tried doing the moonwalk like, six times. Was MJ born with dance talent or did he just take a TON of dance lessons?????
To answer an earlier question, Virginia, I think he was naturally gifted AND he took zillions of dance lessons. He definitely was performing from the time he was a little boy. But he created so many different dance moves . . . he had such a gift.
I think you're right Hannah. I think my favorite MJ songs are now Billie Jean and Off the Wall. For anyone who's interested, look up "Billie Jean" and "Off the Wall" on youtube and watch Michael Jackson dance. He cannot be described.
